Frequently Asked Questions

How does Wecker work?
Wecker is a loud alarm clock that uses wake-up tasks to ensure you actually get out of bed. Set an alarm with a time, label, repeat days, and a task (like pushups). When the alarm goes off, you must complete the task to dismiss it. Your camera tracks physical tasks in real time — no reps completed means no snooze.
What wake-up tasks are available?
Wecker offers two categories of tasks:

Move Your Body: Pushups (camera-tracked reps), Situps (camera-tracked reps), Jumping Jacks (live tracking).

Get Out of Bed: Touch Grass (step outside and photograph real grass), Sky Photo (look up and snap the open sky), Object Hunt (find a specific real-world object on cue).

Easy: Tap to Dismiss — for when you just need a basic alarm.
How does camera task tracking work?
When you set a physical task (Pushups, Situps, or Jumping Jacks), Wecker uses your device's front or rear camera to count your reps in real time using on-device processing. No video is recorded or saved — the camera is only active during the task completion window. Once you hit your target reps, the alarm is dismissed.
Can I set how many reps to complete?
Yes. When you select a physical task (like Pushups), a "Target reps" control appears directly in the task picker. Use the + and − buttons to set your desired rep count. You can adjust this any time by editing the alarm and tapping the wake task section.
What is the Day Streak?
Your Day Streak counts how many consecutive days you've successfully completed your alarm's wake-up task. The streak is visible on the Home screen and Insights screen. Missing a day resets the streak to zero — so staying consistent is the goal. You'll see your progress on a weekly calendar view showing which days you completed.
What does the Consistency Score mean?
The Consistency Score (0–100) is shown on the Insights screen. It reflects how regular your wake times are across recent days. A score of 0–30 is "Variable," 30–50 is "Improving," 50–70 is "Regular," and 70–100 is "Consistent." The higher the score, the more predictable and stable your morning wake time is.
How does Wecker use Apple Health?
Wecker can optionally read your sleep data from Apple Health to display it in the Insights screen under "Sleep — Last 7 nights." To enable this, grant Health access when prompted, or go to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Wecker. We only read sleep data — we never write anything to Apple Health, and your health data never leaves your device.
What is the Recommended Alarm Settings banner?
When you first open the app, Wecker may show a "Recommended alarm settings" card on the Home screen with 3 quick setup suggestions based on good sleep hygiene (e.g., a consistent 7:30 AM weekday alarm with a physical task). Tap it to view and apply these suggestions instantly, or dismiss it with the ✕ button.
Can I allow snooze?
Yes — each alarm has an optional "Allow snooze" toggle at the bottom of the alarm edit screen. When enabled, a 5-minute snooze option appears after you complete the wake-up task. Snooze is only available after successful task completion — you can't snooze without doing the task first.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription anytime through your device's store settings:

iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Wecker → Cancel Subscription.
Android: Google Play → Menu → Subscriptions → Wecker → Cancel.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, so you'll retain full access until then.
What subscription plans are available?
Wecker offers two plans:

Weekly Plan — $2.99/week: Billed every 7 days. Full access to all features including unlimited alarms, all tasks, streaks, Insights, and badges. Cancel anytime.
3-Month Plan — $9.99 / 3 months: Best value — save over 70% compared to the weekly plan. Billed once every 3 months with full access to all features.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google depending on your platform.
iOS: Contact Apple Support at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Android: Contact Google Play Support through the Play Store app.

We're happy to help you navigate the process — just email us at support@wecker.app.
The alarm isn't going off. What do I do?
Make sure Wecker has notification permissions enabled in your device settings. On iOS, go to Settings → Wecker → Notifications and ensure "Allow Notifications" is on. Also check that Do Not Disturb / Focus mode isn't blocking Wecker. If the issue persists, try toggling the alarm off and back on, or restart the app. Email us if the problem continues.
The camera task isn't tracking my reps correctly. What do I do?
For best results: ensure your whole body is in frame during physical tasks, use good lighting, wear fitted clothing so movement is visible, and place your phone on a stable surface at a slight angle. If tracking is inconsistent, try restarting the task or adjusting your distance from the camera. Email us if issues persist with your device model and iOS/Android version.
The app is crashing or not working. What do I do?
First, try closing and restarting the app. If the issue persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling (your streak and alarm data will be restored from backup if cloud sync is enabled). If you're still experiencing issues, please email support@wecker.app with your device model, iOS/Android version, and a description of the problem.
How do I delete my account and data?
You can request full account and data deletion by emailing support@wecker.app with the subject line "Account Deletion Request - Wecker". Please include your account email. We will process your request within 7 business days and confirm when complete.
Is Wecker available on both iOS and Android?
Yes! Wecker is available on both the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android). Download it free on either platform and subscribe to unlock unlimited alarms and all wake-up tasks.
